Extending the life of an award-winning late ‘sixties house.
Upon completion in the late 1960’s, the existing house won an award for both its contribution to the community and its design.
The aim of the current owners is to add “being green” to this neighborhood example, by increasing the energy performance of the house in the process of replacing the exterior cladding. Their passion in environmental responsibility is matched by an avid appreciation of modern design. This has led to extensive research on affordable, light weight, green cladding strategies not only to improve the building performance, but also to refine the aesthetics of the house in order to extend its productive life.
